Description:
An employee-owned construction consultancy in Winchester is looking for a Project Manager to join its close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with consultancy experience to work across a strong portfolio of education projects, alongside sports facilities and selected schemes in other sectors.
The Project Manager will manage projects from inception through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior colleagues. This Project Manager role would suit a confident Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of commissions, building strong client relationships, and working within a collaborative business. The successful Project Manager will join a Project Manager team where decisions are made collectively, employees share in the success of the business, and long-term progression is actively supported.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Project Manager's role
The Project Manager will lead predominantly education projects across Winchester and the wider region, with additional exposure to sports facilities and other built environment sectors.
The Project Manager will be responsible for programme management, procurement, consultant coordination, contract administration, project reporting, risk management, change control, and stakeholder engagement.
The Project Manager will chair meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, monitor contractor performance, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality. They will also maintain strong relationships with clients and provide clear professional advice throughout the project lifecycle.
The Project Manager
The successful Project Manager will have:
Prior experience working within a construction consultancy
Experience delivering education, sports, public sector, or similar projects
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
Good knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement
Experience managing projects through pre-contract and post-contract stages
Strong communication, organisation, and client-facing skills
The ability to manage multidisciplinary consultant teams
A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery
