About the Role

As part of our dynamic new Business Unit, you will help shape the future of the New Nuclear industry. You will oversee a major 10-year Civil Works Programme, managing complex technical deliverables and ensuring that our projects meet high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Oversight: Take a global view of nuclear power plant Systems, Structures, and Components (SSCs) within your assigned programme.

Engineering Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of engineering studies by the Responsible Designer (RD) or key contractors to meet Sizewell C project goals.

Contract Preparation: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare specific post-FID contracts, including terms, technical specifications, and contractual appendices.

Design & Interface Management: Drive site-specific design changes and manage both internal interfaces (contracts/systems) and external interfaces (programme scopes) seamlessly.

Risk & Stakeholder Engagement: Engage early with stakeholders and suppliers to spot obsolescence issues and protect project replication.

Procurement & Technical Leadership: Manage technical elements of procurement, complex contracts, and commercial claim closeouts.

Continuous Improvement: Embed lessons-learned and knowledge-capture into daily operations.

Control & Governance: Maintain strict control over costs, schedules, risks, and changes using Earned Value tools.

What You'll Need

Qualifications: A relevant university degree alongside Chartered status in Project Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Industry Background: Strong background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering for large industrial plants.

Lifecycle Experience: Proven experience managing major, technically complex projects from concept through to handover.

Leadership & Coordination: Demonstrated success in coordinating and driving multidisciplinary design and procurement teams to meet strict deadlines.

Commercial Acumen: Expertise in complex contract management, procurement, and commercial negotiations/claim resolutions.

Project Controls: Proficient in cost, risk, and schedule control, including Earned Value management tools
