We have a fantastic opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to relocate to the channel islands for a new start with a reputable contractor in the region. Our client has a pipeline of £10m+ of civils works covering highways, marine works, drainage and groundworks project.
Role Title: Civil Project Manager
Reporting to: Department Head
Role Purpose:
Serve as the primary point of responsibility for projects across various sectors of civil engineering. Lead a team of foremen and direct labour utilizing primarily owned equipment while effectively engaging with all stakeholders. Manage projects ranging from minor works up to £5 million.

* Analytical Skills: Expertise in addressing engineering challenges.
* Communication Skills: Proficient in instructing, explaining, and conveying information clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
* Attention to Detail: Ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately.
* Commercial Acumen: Align with the company’s culture and ethics.
* Contractual Awareness: Proficient in contract administration.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
Understand, embrace, and take responsibility for implementing the company's project delivery approach, ensuring projects are resourced correctly with safety and quality at the forefront.
* Safety and Quality: Act as the single point of responsibility for safety and quality within the project.
* Risk Management: Assess and control engineering, health, and safety risks.
* Reporting: Report on project progress, risks, issues, and changes to senior management and key stakeholders.
* Design Coordination: Manage design aspects, whether internal D&B or interfacing with clients’ professional teams.
* Documentation: Produce or approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring compliance on-site.
* Project Planning: Use Microsoft Project for programming, illustrating logic, critical paths, lead-in times, and milestones.
* Cost Control: Lead cost control efforts in collaboration with the commercial department.
* Contract Administration: Oversee contractual administration and relate it to cost control.
* Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly and work effectively with a team of professionals, both internal and external.
* Project Pricing: Negotiate directly with clients and suppliers on project pricing.
* Internal Administration: Handle internal administrative tasks and cooperate with other departments and managers.
Responsibilities in Relation to Health, Safety, and Welfare
* HS&W Policy: Understand the Health, Safety, and Welfare policy and communicate any potential barriers to its implementation.
* Policy Execution: Ensure projects comply with the HS&W policy, Safe Working Procedures, and Risk Assessments.
* Risk Assessments: Conduct and communicate Risk Assessments to those carrying out work activities, ensuring adherence.
* Training and Tools: Ensure operatives are suitably trained and equipped with the necessary tools, plant, and PPE.
* Collaboration: Work with external Health & Safety advisors and the internal Health, Safety, and Welfare Committee.
* Compliance: Personally adhere to Safe Working Procedures related to your operational remit, including accident and dangerous occurrences reporting and lone-working protocols.
