Job Title: Interim Project Manager - All-Ages Transport
Location: West Midlands, Hybrid
Duration: 6-months ongoing
Salary/Rate: Inside IR35 - Circa £400 per day (Negotiable)
Our client, a local authority in the West Midlands, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Project Manager for their All-Ages Transport programme. This critical role will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the transport transformation programme, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive travel assistance for residents of all ages. This includes developing independence in travel skills and implementing new transport processes aligned with the Civica system changes.
Main Duties
Lead the delivery of the Transport Transformation Project, encompassing travel assistance for residents of all ages, and developing their independence in travel skills.
Develop and implement transport processes in alignment with the new Civica system changes, working closely with the admission team manager and relevant team.
Create and execute a 'maximising fleet' strategy to optimize transport resources.
Review, consult, and publish the Transport Policy and statement.
Develop key performance indicators and operational measures, alongside effective monitoring and reporting arrangements.
Develop proposals for fit-for-purpose structures and lead the consultation processes.
Develop a comprehensive transport communications strategy.
Provide project management expertise and support to the all-age Transport Transformation project governance arrangements, involving major stakeholders, staff, relevant professionals, and other agencies.
Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., transportation management, logistics, public administration) or equivalent practical experience.
Project or programme management qualifications (e.g., APM, MSP, Prince2) or significant experience in programme/project management and change management, including the delivery of high-profile, complex, and high-risk projects and programmes.
Proven experience in managing transportation programmes or operations, preferably in a school, social care, or public sector environment.
Strong understanding of transport regulations, policies, and procedures.
Comprehensive understanding of transport requirements for all-age transport and assistance, including relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
