Description:

We are looking for an experienced Site Agent/Project Manager with a strong background in civil infrastructure, specifically highways, to lead the successful delivery of complex highways, streetscape and public realm schemes.

This is a role suited to someone with a proven track record of managing civil engineering projects from initial planning through to completion. You will take responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

You will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, programme and cost management, contract administration and stakeholder coordination. A strong understanding of NEC contracts, alongside experience working within live highway environments, is essential. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage commercial risks and ensure that safety, quality and client expectations remain central throughout each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation and planning through to delivery, handover and close-out.
• Manage highways and civil infrastructure projects under NEC ECC contracts, ensuring effective contract administration and compliance.
• Monitor project programmes, budgets, costs, risks and quality, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate with local authorities, utility companies, designers, subcontractors, consultants and other key stakeholders.
• Lead site teams and manage supply chain partners to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
• Ensure all works meet relevant highways specifications, health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and quality standards.
• Manage commercial matters, including change control, compensation events and cost management.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on highways.
• Strong practical knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly NEC ECC, including contract administration and compensation events.
• Experience delivering works within live highway environments and urban locations.
• A relevant civil engineering qualification, such as HNC, HND, degree or equivalent.
• Valid CSCS and SMSTS qualifications, or equivalent.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working directly with local authorities and highway authorities.
• A sound understanding of traffic management arrangements and utility coordination.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Sub Agent/Project Manager with a solid highways and civil infrastructure background to take ownership of challenging projects, lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality infrastructure improvements.
