Project Manager - Social Housing Refurbishment
Location: Lewisham, London
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000
Start: ASAP
We are recruiting a Project Manager for a contractor delivering refurbishment and maintenance works in Lewisham.
The role covers individual property refurbishments typically valued at £20,000-£100,000, as well as standalone projects converting buildings into residential accommodation. With around £10 million of work planned over the next three years, this is an opportunity to take a leading role in a growing housing division.
The role
Manage a team of 6-7 people, including Site Managers, and keep multiple refurbishments running at once
Visit properties, carry out surveys, define scopes of work and appoint the right contractors
Oversee approximately three new properties each week, with typical refurbishment programmes of 6-7 weeks
Maintain detailed trackers covering progress, costs and handovers
Oversee façade works alongside the wider refurbishment programme
Build a strong working relationship with Lewisham Council and manage its expectations on delivery What we're looking for
You'll have Project Manager experience in social housing refurbishment, council housing or housing acquisition programmes. Experience with a major housing contractor or housing association would be relevant, but you must be comfortable getting into the detail of each property: assessing the work required, managing the programme and resolving issues on site.
You'll understand refurbishment processes from a contractor's perspective and be confident managing both a site team and a demanding council client.
