Project Manager - High-Security Fit-Out | Reading
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading main contractor on a c.£5m high-security fit-out project in Reading.
This is a high-profile project requiring an experienced construction professional with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and the ability to operate effectively within a highly controlled, security-sensitive environment.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with the client, design team, consultants, subcontractors and internal commercial and operational teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Taking overall responsibility for project delivery, programme, quality and health & safety.
Managing and coordinating subcontractors, consultants and site teams.
Driving the programme to ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
Managing project risks, change and commercial interfaces.
Leading project meetings and maintaining strong client relationships.
Ensuring works are delivered to the required specification and quality standards.
Coordinating design, procurement and construction activities.
Maintaining rigorous standards around site security, access and confidentiality.
Providing clear and accurate reporting on progress, programme, risk and overall project performance.About You
We are looking for an established Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering £5m+ fit-out or refurbishment projects, ideally within commercial, government, defence, critical infrastructure or other security-sensitive environments.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience managing projects valued at £5m+.
A strong fit-out and/or refurbishment background.
Excellent programme and subcontractor management skills.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
A methodical, organised and highly professional approach to project delivery.
Relevant construction qualifications, such as SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
Existing high-level security clearance or the ability to obtain the required clearance.
A British passport, due to the security requirements of the project.Security Clearance
High-level security clearance is an essential requirement for this position.
Due to the sensitive nature of the project, candidates will be required to meet the relevant nationality and security-vetting requirements before being granted access to the site/project.
