Project Manager – Civil Engineering

Permanent | Bristol

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and construction projects across the South West.

Our client is a well-established, privately owned contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex civil engineering, highways, infrastructure and earthworks projects for both public and private sector clients. They pride themselves on building lasting client relationships, maintaining the highest safety standards and investing in the development of their people.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects from contract award through to completion. Working closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and commercial teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the delivery of civil engineering projects across the Bristol region.

* Lead project teams to achieve programme, budget and quality objectives.

* Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.

* Develop and monitor project programmes, identifying and managing project risks.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders.

* Manage project resources including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.

* Monitor financial performance alongside the commercial team, including cost control and forecasting.

* Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management.

* Drive continuous improvement and promote best practice across all projects.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering civil engineering projects.

Essential:

* Previous experience managing civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

* Strong leadership and organisational skills.

* Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management experience.

* Good commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts.

* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and project teams.

* SMSTS.

* CSCS Management Card.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

* Experience delivering highways, drainage, earthworks, reinforced concrete or public realm projects.

* Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.

* Knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction planning software.
