Purpose of Role:

The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing commercial projects with a focus on maximising profitability, minimising risks, and ensuring successful project delivery. This role involves bridging the gap between business objectives and project execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating various project aspects, including financial management, stakeholder communication, and resource allocation, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Duties:

· Develop project plans outlining objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
· Coordinate project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
· Monitor progress and implement necessary adjustments to keep projects on track.
· Create and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
· Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate financial risks.
· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
· Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
· Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts as they arise.
· Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions.
· Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and implement proactive measures to address emerging issues.
· Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and management.
· Prepare comprehensive project reports, status updates, and presentations for various audiences.
· Provide timely and accurate information to support decision-making processes.

Main Deliverables n Role:

· Detailed project plans outlining objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
· Accurate budget reports, financial forecasts, and cost analysis documents.
· Regular progress reports, status updates, and presentations for stakeholders and management.
· Risk assessment reports and mitigation strategies.
· Successful project completion within specified timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Knowledge & Experience:

· Deep understanding of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) principles and processes.
· Proven experience in complex commercial project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget, within an ETO setting desirable.
· Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management, financial analysis, and cost control.
· Demonstrable proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, with excellent working knowledge of Excel.
· Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
· Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities specific to start-up environments is advantageous but not essential.
· Experience in managing client expectations and relationships; skilled in stakeholder communication and engagement.
· Experience in identifying, analysing, and mitigating project risks.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information, project goals, progress, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
· Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution, with the ability to manage disputes and reach amicable solutions amongst both internal and external stakeholders.
· Comfortable working in a fast paced and evolving environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and pivot strategies as needed.
· Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and align project goals with the broader business strategy.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or related field is desirable.
· Member of the Association of Project Management (APM) Associate or above.
· PRINCE2 qualification.
