Highways Project Manager – Leeds/Darlington

My client are a leading civil engineering organisation committed to delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. Following a string of successful contract awards, we are enhancing our Highways delivery team with several key additions. We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join us, managing schemes in the Northwest and North East regions, which involve highways works, drainage excavations, kerbing, surfacing, and concrete works. This role requires travel or lodging away due to the large region. Working with a team of highly motivated, dedicated professionals delivering projects across various frameworks with clients such as National Highways and multiple local authorities and county councils.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensure customers are informed, engaged, and delighted with project performance.
Enhance the traveling experience around our infrastructure projects.

Ensure compliance with legislative and mandatory policies and procedures.
Accountable for profit and loss on your projects, delivering a profitable outcome in line with site targets.
Understand and achieve infrastructure targets, ensuring sustainable profit before tax.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:

Broad experience in disciplines such as groundwork, RC structures, geotechnical, Civils, and section 278 works.
Experience in a roads or highways environment, ideally on National Highways owned infrastructure.
Proven track record in managing projects or project sections up to £10 million.
Knowledge of programming and Conditions of contract (NEC, ICE etc.).
Qualified to HNC or Degree standard in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, with aspirations of gaining chartered status within ICE or IOB.
