Description:

Construction Project Manager

Location: Swansea / South Wales
Salary: £72,000 – £77,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
Sector: Construction / Public Sector / Ministry of Justice (MOJ)

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor, delivering two significant projects under an established Ministry of Justice (MOJ) framework in the Swansea area.

The successful individual will take responsibility for the delivery of two key schemes: an upgrade to an existing prison facility and a refurbishment project within an existing law court.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected construction business with a strong pipeline of secured work, genuine long-term career prospects and the opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of complex, high-profile public sector projects.

Offering a salary of £72,000–£77,000 plus an excellent benefits package, this position would suit an established Project Manager with experience delivering construction or refurbishment projects within a main contracting environment.

Previous MOJ or custodial sector experience is advantageous but certainly not essential. We are equally interested in speaking with Project Managers who have delivered complex construction, refurbishment or upgrade projects in other sectors and are looking to develop their experience within a Tier 1 environment.

The Role – Construction Project Manager

Reporting into the senior management team, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of both projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

*

Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of two construction projects.

*

Leading and coordinating site management teams, subcontractors and consultants.

*

Managing project programmes, budgets, costs and commercial performance.

*

Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

*

Managing client relationships and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders.

*

Overseeing procurement, subcontractor performance and resource allocation.

*

Monitoring progress against programme and proactively managing project risks and potential delays.

*

Ensuring quality assurance procedures and project specifications are consistently maintained.

*

Attending progress meetings and providing regular reporting to senior management and the client.

*

Driving a positive, collaborative and performance-focused site culture.

About You

We are looking to speak with experienced Construction Project Managers who have a proven track record of delivering projects within a main contractor environment.

You will ideally have:

*

Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager within the UK construction industry.

*

Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

*

A background in building, refurbishment, upgrade or complex construction projects.

*

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage site teams and multiple subcontractors.

*

Excellent commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial controls.

*

A strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements.

*

Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.

*

The ability to manage programmes, budgets and competing project priorities effectively.

*

Relevant construction qualifications, ideally within construction management or a related discipline.

Experience working within the Ministry of Justice, prisons, custodial environments or other secure/public sector facilities would be beneficial, although candidates without MOJ experience will absolutely be considered.

What's On Offer?

*

Competitive salary of £72,000 – £77,000.

*

Excellent additional benefits package.

*

Opportunity to join an established Tier 1 main contractor.

*

Responsibility for two significant projects under a long-term MOJ framework.

*

Strong pipeline of secured work.

*

Genuine long-term career progression and development opportunities.

*

The opportunity to broaden your experience across complex public sector construction projects.

*

The stability and backing of a major national construction business.
