Description:

Role: Project Manager

Location: Home Counties

Duration: 6 months minimum

Day rate: Starting at £500 per day

Experienced Project Manager sought for a public sector organisation based in the Homes Counties, on an interim basis to assist the organisation through an exciting period of change. You will work closely with the Children's Services and Corporate Transformation Team.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

Develop a comprehensive programme plan covering key milestones from all workstreams, including tasks, dependencies and resources with task completion dates scheduled to accommodate existing constraints
Meet with different service teams to capture and record activities, identifying workstream leads and working with them to understand requirements
Develop additional programme documentation as required, including Programme Initiation Document, RAID log, RACI matrix and highlight reports in line with the Council's project management framework
Maintain and foster links between all parties at all levels, ensuring that programme team meetings and board meetings are held to share information, monitor programme progress and address escalated matters
Progress workstreams where there are no workstream leads identified and monitor progress of standalone tasks.

The ideal candidate for the Project Manager should have:

Programme Management experience of leading and delivering successful programmes
Strong team player with the ability to work under pressure to tight programme deadlines
Strong focus on successful programme delivery and a practical approach to problem solving, including readiness to pitch in and get the job done
Excellent communicator with ability to create logical delivery plans and manage them to completion
Experience of leading service redesigns
Experience of process reengineering, as part of service redesign
Experience of managing technology change projects, including requirements gathering and implementation
Knowledge and experience of best practice children's placements commissioning services
Understanding of Local Authority annual budgeting process
Experience with Children's Services Liquidlogic system and / or other social care case management systems.

The Project Manager role will be a contract for 6 months minimum and offers a flexible working pattern if required.
