Description:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established £50m turnover civils contractor delivering a portfolio of major infrastructure projects across the Midlands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of a water-biased infrastructure project, with a strong focus on heavy civils and reinforced concrete structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background who is comfortable managing complex construction packages from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of the project, managing site teams, subcontractors, commercial performance, programme, health & safety and quality.

You will be expected to provide strong leadership across a technically demanding scheme, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and internal commercial and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Managing the project from mobilisation through to completion.
- Overall responsibility for programme, delivery, cost, quality and H&S.
- Managing water infrastructure and heavy civils packages.
- Overseeing the construction of reinforced concrete structures, foundations and associated civils.
- Managing earthworks, drainage, underground services and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinating subcontractors and specialist supply chains.
- Leading site teams including Site Agents, Engineers and Foremen.
- Reviewing and managing construction programmes and short-term planning.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and ITPs.
- Managing RAMS, WPPs, permits and construction documentation.
- Working closely with the commercial team on change, cost control and forecasting.
- Liaising with clients, designers and stakeholders.
- Driving quality, environmental and health & safety standards across the project.
- Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring successful handover and close-out of works.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager within the civil engineering/infrastructure sector, with a proven background delivering water, heavy civils or similar major infrastructure projects.

You should have strong experience of:

- Water infrastructure projects.
- Heavy civils and complex construction.
- RC structures and reinforced concrete works.
- Earthworks, drainage and below-ground infrastructure.
- Managing multidisciplinary site teams.
- Subcontractor and stakeholder management.
- Programme and project delivery.
- Construction planning and commercial awareness.
- Working within structured QA and H&S systems.
- Delivering projects safely, on programme and to budget.

Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or established civil engineering contractor would be highly advantageous.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing £50m turnover contractor with a strong pipeline of infrastructure work across the Midlands.

The role would suit a Project Manager who enjoys being hands-on with project delivery and wants to work on technically challenging water-biased infrastructure, heavy civils and RC structures projects
