Description:

Project Geophysicist

Central London | £37,000 - £43,000

If you're a Geophysicist who enjoys seeing your work move from data collection through to real-world site investigation, this could be a great opportunity to take the next step in your career.

We're working with a specialist site investigation consultancy that delivers geophysical and ground investigation services across a wide range of projects. Due to continued growth, they're looking to bring an experienced Project Geophysicist into their Central London team.

The Role

This is a hands-on position where you'll have the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle rather than being limited to one particular part of the process.

You'll be involved in planning and delivering geophysical surveys, interpreting results and producing clear technical outputs for clients. Projects will vary considerably, giving you exposure to different ground conditions, sites and investigation challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and coordinating geophysical investigations from initial scope through to delivery
Undertaking and overseeing a range of geophysical surveys and site investigations
Processing, analysing and interpreting geophysical data
Producing technical reports and presenting findings to clients
Working closely with engineers, geologists and other technical specialists
Supporting project management, programming and commercial aspects of projects
Liaising directly with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders
Working on a mixture of UK-based projects, with occasional site travel required

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Geophysicists who have a solid background in site investigation and applied geophysics and are looking for a role where they can take genuine ownership of projects.

You'll ideally have experience with some of the following:

Geophysical surveying and site investigation
Data processing and interpretation
Producing technical reports
Project coordination or management
Techniques such as seismic, resistivity, GPR, EM or MASW
Working alongside geotechnical or geoenvironmental teamsA relevant degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related subject is expected.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys the practical side of geophysics and wants to be involved in interesting projects rather than simply processing data behind the scenes.

Why Consider It?

This is a chance to join a technically focused consultancy where geophysics is a key part of the wider site investigation offering.

You'll have the opportunity to:

Take ownership of projects from start to finish
Work across a varied project portfolio
Develop both your technical and project management skills
Work alongside experienced geotechnical and environmental professionals
Gain further client-facing experience
Build your career within a growing specialist consultancy
Be based in Central London, with a good balance of office and site-based workIf you're an experienced Geophysicist looking for a role with more variety, responsibility and involvement in the wider investigation process, I'd be keen to hear from you
