We are recruiting two Project Engineers to join a specialist contractor delivering civil engineering, remediation, earthworks and enabling works projects throughout the UK.

These positions would suit Site Engineers or Project Engineers with experience supporting the technical and operational delivery of construction projects. Applications are also welcomed from capable graduate engineers with relevant site experience who are ready to develop into a Project Engineer position.

The Role

Working alongside Project Managers, Site Managers and operational teams, you will support projects from initial planning through to completion.

Responsibilities will include:

Supporting the technical delivery of civil engineering and remediation projects.

Assisting with project planning, programming and coordination.

Producing and maintaining RAMS, inspection and test plans, technical records and project documentation.

Monitoring works against drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Supporting setting-out activities and checking completed works.

Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

Raising and managing technical queries and RFIs.

Maintaining quality, environmental and health and safety records.

Assisting with progress reporting, site meetings and client communication.

Supporting the preparation of as-built information and project handover documentation.

Helping identify technical, programme and delivery risks.

Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.

Required Experience

We are interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

Civil engineering

Remediation or contaminated land

Earthworks and groundworks

Ground engineering

Infrastructure or utilities

Demolition or enabling works

Site engineering or project engineering

Candidates should also have:

An HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related subject.

Previous site-based construction experience.

An understanding of drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

The ability to work with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients.

A full UK driving licence.

Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout the UK.

A valid CSCS card is required. Additional qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS, First Aid or Temporary Works training would be advantageous but are not essential for every applicant.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist contractor with a strong pipeline of technically challenging projects. The company can consider both an experienced Project Engineer and a developing engineer with the right technical foundation and site experience.

Salary is £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience, with further details of the employment package discussed during the recruitment process.
