Morgan King are delighted to be partnered with a market leading FMCG organisation who are looking to appoint a project engineering lead to join their busy manufacturing team.

Job Purpose

As Engineering Project Lead, you will plan, execute, and lead on specific project activities for example, the design and installation of manufacturing lines, equipment specifications, supplier selections, equipment commissioning and validation. You will be accountable for management of the associated capital expenditure approval process and adherence to the approved spend and timescales. Your role is responsible for the adherence to relevant health and safety guidelines (including third parties and contractors) throughout the lifecycle of any projects undertaken. Key stakeholders MUST be consulted, and their views considered on all critical project decisions. Any identified risks or issues must be flagged to relevant stakeholders at the earliest opportunity, including to the Operations & Supply Chain Director.

Responsibilities

* Project Management Skills – working to secure the successful outcome of specified projects aimed at improving the efficiency and delivery.

* Stakeholder analysis

* Time Management skills

* Advising of any delays and roadblocks in the process.

* Regular reporting and feedback sessions.

* Removing inefficiencies and identifying bottlenecks in the process.

* Ensure the control phase of projects is well managed to ensure successful outcomes.

* Where appropriate agree the training needs of individuals to ensure systems and procedures are adhered to.

* Commissioning of new pieces of kit and training out of SOP’s and other relevant documents fall within the scope of this role.

Skills & Qualifications

* Engineering background with FMCG experience.

* Engineering Qualification, Degree Level, BTEC HNC or ONC.

* Experienced in managing internal and external resource to ensure project activities are completed on time, to budget and the required specification.

* Working knowledge of GMP requirements for facilities and equipment desired.

* Manage external contractors whilst adhering to safe working practice and specific HSE requirements.

* Demonstratable management experience of multiple concurrent projects and delivery of projects which involved installing new machinery, robots, production lines within manufacturing businesses.

* Holder of IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.

* Working knowledge of CAD – you do need to be able to use it, you don't need to be able to design on it.

* Strong Project experience.

* Adaptable and flexible to changes required from the business.

* Strong ethos of responsibility and accountability. • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects/initiatives through to completion.

* Effective written and oral communication skills
