Job Opportunity: Project Engineer (Water)
Location: Alton
Salary: Up to £47,000 p/a plus package

Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive water and wastewater treatment solutions, is looking to expand their delivery team. They offer a unique end-to-end service, covering everything from needs assessment and solution definition, through design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning, to aftercare and operation of treatment assets. They are seeking a Project Engineer to be based in their Alton office.

Key Responsibilities:
General Duties:

·Support Team Lead/Project Manager(s) in delivering water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
·Coordinate with site, workshop, and office-based personnel to ensure contracts are delivered according to the awarded conditions.
·Conduct site visits to plan, monitor, and close out project delivery activities.
·Liaise with all project personnel to confirm each stage is progressing properly and on schedule.

Project Planning & Communications:

·Ensure all relevant HSQE documentation is up to standard and in place promptly for all projects.
·Plan timelines from contract award to completion and handover of documentation.
·Plan and attend technical meetings with clients and consulting engineers.
·Ensure all project documentation is current and saved within the project folder.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ):

·Enforce safe work practices on-site, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures during design and installation.
·Report accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and/or near misses.
·Liaise with internal safety officers and auditors during site inspections.
·Accommodate site inspections from clients, the HSE, and other external bodies.
·Work with project teams to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into every aspect of design.
·Record and close out non-conformances, identifying corrective actions, root causes, and preventative/improvement measures.

Financial:

·Coordinate financial elements of projects to achieve target goals.
·Manage the purchasing and acquisition of project cost components, including labour, parts, materials, and plant.
·Enter relevant data into the internal company IFS system.
·Retrieve financial reports from the IFS system for monthly project status reporting.

Other Duties:

·Attend Contracts team meetings, in person or remotely.
·Produce case studies of completed projects.
·Perform other duties as needed that align with the job-holder's knowledge and skills.

Key Skills & Experience:

·Degree, HND, or equivalent in engineering or science.
·Ideally, one year of postgraduate experience in a project engineering, technical, or applications/R&D role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
·Experience in the UK water industry is an advantage, but high-calibre graduates will be considered.
·Ability to work on multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.
·Advanced MS Office skills, with the ability to analyze and manipulate data sets.
·Strong report writing skills.
·Good communication skills, able to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
·Strong analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to deliver data in a user-friendly manner.
·Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
·Willingness to travel nationwide (including overnight stays).
·Full driving licence; any existing endorsements should be declared in the application.
