Title: Project Engineer

Working closely with Senior Management Team and Project Managers the role is responsible for managing small projects received from customers from enquiry through to completion.
Main responsibilities include interpretation of works instructions/drawings producing and reviewing drawings against suitability for manufacture, visiting customer sites research technical information and quality documentation in response to customer requirements sourcing various types of equipment and producing purchasing specifications to take out to competitive tender negotiating cost prices and lead times preparing tender documentation for smaller projects and contract reviews, supporting project managers on larger projects negotiation of selling price with customers and managing technical queries.
Familiarity with programme plans looking ahead to co-ordinate installation activity Project review of site restrictions and access complexity Co-ordinating internal resource and sub-contractors to allow completion of projects, helping to identify efficiency gains Ensuring resource/material/equipment is available for the site welding/assembly activity Ensure the equipment is built / installed to the customers drawings and information Manage projects, offering guidance to the site team and working with the Project Manager offering solutions to unforeseen issues Maintain a strong working relationship with the client by providing first class service Monitor labour utilisation and provide reports to support cost recovery for delays Lead by example on all matters related to HSE at site.
Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions, have commercial awareness including knowledge of NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts, be able to prioritise workshop loading, manage labour and be a proficient user of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Experience of Inventor, MS Project and CEMAR would be an advantage.
Liaising with customers project engineers, suppliers and colleagues is a key part of this role
