Project Engineer (Engineering)

Bakkavor Barton Bread

Days – Monday to Friday 08:30am to 17:00pm

Salary – up to £52,000 plus benefits listed below

This particular role is at our Bakkavor Bread site based in Barton-Upon-Humber, close to the Humber Bridge. This factory specialises in making chilled speciality baguettes at high volumes and employs over 150 people. This site is located 14 miles from Hull, 16 miles from Scunthorpe and 24 miles from Grimsby.

Due to the success of our Bread sites, we are expanding our engineering team and have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer (Engineering) to join our Bakkavor Barton Bread Site.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of various engineering projects at Bakkavor Barton Bread. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of the projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be essential in managing the day-to-day operations, resolving challenges, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project objectives.

Project Planning and Execution:

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Regularly monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential roadblocks and proposing solutions. Technical Expertise:

Apply your engineering knowledge to solve complex technical challenges.
Conduct thorough research, analysis, and design to ensure optimal project outcomes.
Review engineering documentation, specifications, and drawings to maintain accuracy and compliance. Team Coordination and Leadership:

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Provide leadership and guidance to team members to foster a productive and positive work environment.
Delegate tasks appropriately, leveraging team members' strengths to achieve project objectives. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Implement quality control measures to ensure deliverables meet industry standards and stakeholder requirements.
Monitor and adhere to relevant regulations, and safety guidelines during project execution.
Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with established standards. Client Relations:

Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.  

About You;

HNC or degree in relevant engineering discipline
Proficient with Autocad for 2D drawings
Nebosh qualified preferred. IOSH essential
Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the FMCG sector.
Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
Demonstrated leadership and organisational abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
