Project Engineer (ICP/Utilities)

Based in Cambridge

£40,000 - £45,000 + Progression + Training + Vehicle + Holidays + Pension

Are you a Project Engineer who is looking to join an ambitious and rapidly growing company offering a varied role, excellent development opportunities and the ability to progress within the business to management positions.

This rapidly growing company are a specialist in the design and consultancy of power systems for a range of sectors, and aim to provide a high quality service to their ever-growing client base.

Due to their rapid expansion, they are now looking for a Project Engineer to join their team.

In this varied role, you will be working from home and commuting to client sites, liaising with customers, managing the allocated resources from design through to construction, and helping to grow and develop the business. You will receive excellent training and progression opportunities

The ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering background and will lead and coordinate electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. They will design electrical networks, including cable routing and switchgear layouts, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include demand calculation, network design, safety audits, land transfers, and liaising with DNOs. They will supervise staff, manage network records, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations from LV to 132kV.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project engineer who is looking to work alongside a highly skilled team and help develop the company.

The Role:

Direct and manage electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Design and plan electrical networks from LV to 132kV, incorporating demand calculations and network design.
Offer technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including feasibility assessments and risk management.
Communicate with DNOs and connection providers, and oversee land transfers, easements, and licensed areas.
Oversee staff and contractors in network design, construction activities, and maintenance of network records.The Person:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Professional registration with the IET or an equivalent body.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a DNO, IDNO, or in a related consultancy role.
Proficient in electrical distribution systems, including LV, HV, and EHV.
