Project Manager / Project Engineer
Dumfries | £45,000 + 10% Annual Bonus | Permanent
We are looking for a technically capable and commercially aware Project Manager / Project Engineer to take ownership of engineering projects from initial planning through to successful completion.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining project management, engineering, customer engagement and site-based delivery.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a range of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing projects from initial scope through to completion and handover
Planning and coordinating installation, refurbishment and repair projects
Managing engineering teams and subcontractors
Conducting site visits, surveys and inspections
Preparing project estimates, quotations and technical solutions
Monitoring project costs, budgets and profitability
Producing project documentation, reports and GANTT charts
Managing customer relationships and acting as a key point of contact
Identifying and managing project risks
Ensuring all work complies with health & safety and quality requirements
Providing technical guidance to engineering teams
Supporting business development through a consultative approach
About You
We are looking for someone who combines engineering knowledge with strong project management and customer-facing skills.
You should have:
Proven experience managing engineering or industrial projects
Experience with mechanical installation, commissioning and/or maintenance
SMSTS - essential
Knowledge of NEC3 contracts
Strong understanding of project planning, cost control and risk management
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sitesWhat's on Offer?
