Description:

We are seeking Project Engineers to join a specialist marine engineering and boatbuilding business delivering new vessel build, marine engineering and fabrication projects for commercial, government and specialist customers.

Purpose of the Role

Working within the New Build team, the Project Engineer provides technical engineering support across vessel build projects, working closely with the Technical Manager and wider project team to support the integration, installation and commissioning of vessel systems and equipment. The role involves interpreting customer requirements, specifications and drawings, resolving technical issues and ensuring vessels are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project objectives. Depending on experience, the role may include leading technical activities and acting as the focal point for vessel systems on allocated projects.

Key Responsibilities

Operate in accordance with Company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and promote adherence by others.
Provide technical engineering support across allocated new build vessel projects.
Support the integration, installation, testing and commissioning of vessel systems and equipment.
Review and interpret customer specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
Identify technical risks, engineering requirements and practical engineering solutions.
Work closely with Design, Production, Procurement, Quality and Project Management teams to support project delivery.
Liaise with customers, suppliers and subcontractors and ensure engineering solutions are compliant, practical and buildable.

Experience & Skills

Opportunities are available for candidates at varying levels of experience, from developing Project Engineers looking to build their career within the marine sector through to experienced engineers capable of leading complex vessel systems integration activities.

Junior Project Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent).
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, marine or project environments.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Desire to develop technical and project delivery expertise.

Senior Project Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Significant experience within marine, vessel build, systems integration or complex engineering projects.
Ability to lead technical activities and vessel systems integration.
Strong stakeholder management and technical problem-solving skills.
Experience working with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
