Job Title: Project Engineer
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Hampton or South London/Kent (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Car/Car Allowance (£4,800)
Overview: A Project Engineer is needed to manage design, construction, commissioning, and contract execution within the Thames Region, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to specification, with a focus on customer satisfaction and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and update construction programs to meet key milestones.
* Organise and participate in planning sessions with stakeholders.
* Prepare and issue tender invitations and analyse responses.
* Coordinate technical aspects between engineering and supply chain partners.
* Support site management teams, resolve or escalate issues.
* Review invoices for accuracy before approval.
* Identify opportunities for innovation and risk minimization.
* Manage and update the project risk register and early warnings.
* Attend various meetings (Health & Safety, Progress, etc.).
* Report on near misses, unsafe conditions, accidents, and incidents.
* Prepare pre-start packs and manage data systems.
* Collaborate with Project Quantity Surveyors on cost plans and project costs.
* Lead design liaison meetings.
* Ensure adherence to Health and Safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
* Engineering experience.
* Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
* Strong communication skills.
* Understanding of Health and Safety legislation (CDM 2015).
* Experience in delivering engineering projects.
* Target and program monitoring experience.
Desirable:
* Experience with IChemE form of contract.
* Chartered or working towards chartered status.
* Experience in the water industry (non-infrastructure).
* APMP or equivalent certification
