Our client, a leading player in the gas supply industry, is currently handling a substantial order book and offers excellent career prospects. In recent years, the client has expanded into waste-to-energy initiatives through biogas production and has recently ventured into hydrogen substitution technology.
This role is based in the picturesque Staffordshire countryside, near the Shropshire border, and features state-of-the-art facilities and an outstanding working environment. We are seeking up to 4 x Project Engineer to join our client’s team.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for liaising between the Project Manager, design technical disciplines, and production teams to ensure projects are completed according to customer timescales, quality requirements, commercial requirements, and technical specifications.
The position of Project Engineer is a permanent role, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, totalling 37.5 hours per week. The job involves frequent visits to client premises or sites, necessitating overnight stays typically 3-4 days per month away from the office.
Primary Duties:
• Manage the technical aspects of one or more projects, delivering a variety of products and services.
• Ensure robust project lifecycle plans and quality plans are prepared, enforced, and updated.
• Produce all project deliverables on time to meet the required standards.
• Support the client and Project Manager in maintaining robust Change Control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Capture and monitor project Risks & Issues and maintain relevant logs.
• Participate in and chair progress meetings within the company and with the client.
• Liaise with relevant departments to progress design, manufacture, FAT, and implementation.
• Liaise with the client to progress approval of RAMS, identify site-specific training requirements, agree site access times, and ensure Permit requirements are met.
• Lead site works including sub-contractor management, implementation, and commissioning as required.

Secondary Duties:
• Provide support in design work appropriate to your knowledge base/capabilities.
• Support the Sales office technically and for planning and costing new project enquiries.
• Support the activities of the Head of Engineering and Projects, Project Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and Lead Engineers.
Essential Skills:
• HND/Degree or equivalent or significant experience in an Engineering discipline.
• Clear understanding of safe working practices in or around hazardous areas.
• Robust commercial and business acumen.
• Experience of leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of process control principles.
• Ability to multi-task, running multiple projects/deliverables concurrently.
• Comfortable working with customers, suppliers, and internal/external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
• 5 years' experience working in a structured project engineering environment.
• Experience working in the oil and gas industry ideally for UK gas suppliers/transporters.
• Knowledge of National Grid G17/G35, SGN PS6, and/or GL5 Design Processes
