Project Engineer
Our client, an innovative company committed to maximising the value of waste, seeks a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. Leveraging state-of-the-art technology, they specialize in creating renewable energy from waste.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge waste-to-energy technology. Collaborating with a talented team of engineers and technicians, you’ll ensure successful project execution and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the sales team in developing tailored proposals.
* Contribute to the design document set for customers.
* Develop general arrangement (GA) and site design drawings, including pipe and electrical/instrumentation layouts.
* Perform mass loadings and vibration calculations for equipment on plinths/skids. Specify materials for pipework and equipment.
* Provide support during installation, commissioning, and operations and maintenance (O&M) through program and sub-contractor management.
* Work on system design for inlet works, reactor variations, and gas and effluent/solid handling.
* Collaborate with customers, R&D, and the commercial team to ensure customer needs drive design and operational strategy.
* Oversee the installation and commissioning of our client’s system, ensuring safety and adherence to specified timelines.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding of engineering principles, with a mechanical leaning.
* Analyze complex data and designs to anticipate issues and find solutions.
* Ability to write clear reports, manuals, and documentation.
* Proven competency in Safe Systems of Work, including HSE regulations, RAMS, DSEAR, HAZOP, COSHH, and HACCP.
* Competent in resolving common problems related to EfW/AD/WW processes.
* Professional interaction with sub-contractors and clients on-site. Comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-experts.
* Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
* Possess a driving license, own transport, and willingness to travel.
* Solution-oriented, goal-focused, and committed to personal development.
* Background in delivering design, commissioning, and operations of AD/WW/EfW plants.
* Relevant engineering qualifications.
* Ability to develop layouts, pipe and cable routing, 3D modeling, BFD, and P&ID.
* Specification and procurement experience for project equipment and components.
* Provide ad-hoc support for ongoing operations and prepare handover documents.
