The role (the role will be site based)

Ferrovial Construction is looking for Graduates to assist with, and in some cases be responsible for, day to day activities on a variety of major UK infrastructure projects. The Ferrovial 3-year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. You will work under the supervision of Section/Project Managers and in collaboration with the Project Controls site team.

Key Accountabilities:

* Assist the Assistant Project Controls Engineer/Project Controls Engineer in the production of Month End reporting data and assurance of the information.

* Coordinate with Commercial, Delivery and other disciplines to collect information on a timely manner according to the Month End Reporting Calendar.

* Assist the Assistant Project Controls Engineer/Project Controls Engineer in the production of any performance reports or ad-hoc request from Senior Management. Sound knowledge of Earned Value and its applications to Construction.

Skills and Competence

We are looking for graduates with:

* Understanding of construction principles and the relationship between delivery teams and commercial functions. Initial experience in Cost Engineering and Estimating

* Experience of cost management systems within a major civil engineering project.

* Understanding principles of construction scheduling. Initial experience using Power BI. Sound Knowledge on how to measure civil engineering works.

* Understanding of NEC3 contracts. Good IT skills and adaptability.

* Sound knowledge of Earned Value Management and its applications to Construction Projects.

* Sound interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with the supply chain, colleagues and Client.

* Excel – Good level of capability.

* Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels. Excellent written and oral English language

* Motivated to learn and add value to the team, the role and the Graduate program.

* Analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving. A proven team player who can effectively work with others.

* Enjoys working under pressure to meet deadlines. Proactive approach to working and learning.

* Commercial awareness and an understanding of the industry. Familiar with all Microsoft packages

Interpersonal Skills:

* Highly motivated. Logical thinker with a willingness to learn.

* Resilient and a flexible approach to working.

* Results driven with strong communication skills.

* Work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualification:

* Degree or experience in Construction (ideally, civil engineering)

* Registered in a relevant professional institution (ICE, ACostE, etc)

Desirable

* Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation. Engineering experience. CSCS Card

Essential:

* Must have right to work in the UK by the start of employment and throughout the entirety of the graduate program.
