18 Month Fixed Term Contract, Full Time

Project Accountant required to join a public sector organisation on a full time fixed term basis. My client is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Project Accountant to join their dynamic and fast moving finance function.
You will play a key role in delivering projects in the Business protection programme workstream to optimise business process, improve financial control and enhance business continuity capability.
Key responsibilities of the Project Accountant
Conduct 'deep dive' process assessments of core Finance process cycles to identify 'pain points' / issues and improvement opportunities re: standardisation, simplification and systemisation - document process cycles to include in policies and procedures documentation
Create standardised master data structures in the finance systems including a global Chart of Accounts to enable data driven decision making and more efficient month end close. Formalise, document and communicate the methodology and sources of data.
Design, document and implement a control framework for Finance, and embed into BAU.
Lead the creation and completion of a Finance Manual for all Finance processes (process maps, procedure notes, RACI and RACM)
Define the list of Finance processes and propose RACI for implementation
Identify areas requiring improved policy and procedure definition and create and implement as required eg. cost allocations
Delivery of other programme projects as required.Required skills and experience of the Project Accountant
Recognised Accountancy professional qualification, and membership of professional bodies preferably but not limited to CIMA or ICAEW
Strong working knowledge of ERP finance systems and finance processes (R2R, P2P, OTC)
Experience of using Sage X3 and Vena
Experience of using Project Accounting
Experience of creating and documenting new policies and processes
Experience of cost allocations and/or Activity Based Costing
Outcome driven with the ability to lead workshops and discussions with appropriate gravitas to drive actions and results
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
High level of organisational skills
