Programme Managers Assistant (PMA) - Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering
The principal role of the PMA is to support the Programme Leader / Programme Manager with the management of a project focusing on collecting information and reporting. The PMA will develop an understanding of all the aspects of a Power Train project which must be tracked, gather information from the engineering teams that are implementing the project and then feed this information into the appropriate systems, reporting formats and documents.
Following on from this they will support the presentations from the programme management team to various levels of management within the organisation. The PMA will frequently lead meetings with the engineering teams to gather the required information, for example covering project funding, issue management & progress to timing plans. This allows them to track progress and highlight to the programme leader/manager any areas of concern.
Project administration tasks will also be required such as setting up meetings and managing Sharepoints. There will also be opportunities to work with other PMAs especially for the purposes of sharing lessons learnt and strengthening best practice. The projects run by this team are to install or retool manufacturing systems and, as such, are highly technical so an understanding of manufacturing systems is an advantage. Meeting deadlines is critical in this environment to ensure launch timing is met and prevent production shortages or stoppages.
