Description:

European-based Program Manager responsible for project delivery on time, quality, and cost from the point of nomination through launch and into serial production. Support all relevant internal departments to ensure flawless program launch and delivery. Program managers in our client's organization are responsible for keeping the customer happy and ensuring we deliver to our promises, on time, on cost, and with quality. Our program managers are also the very best at establishing and maintaining relationships within OEMs, Tier 1 customers, and suppliers to our client. Predominantly automotive, we also flex our teams across multiple industries.
 
Principal Duties:

Manage the delivery of multiple programs into OEM and Tier customers.
Effectively manage programs so they are delivered on time, on cost, and with quality.
Effectively communicate and build relationships with OEMs, Tiers, and suppliers.
Liaise with our client's teams in the USA and Japan as well as working closely with the UK team.
Lead/assist the relevant teams to engineer the fabric to meet OEM specifications and develop the material into applications e.g. seating, doors, IP, consoles.
Understand the customer's manufacturing, scheduling, and order processes to assist in the creation of relevant systems (if needed) to ensure on-time delivery to the customer's satisfaction.
Manage Tier release schedules to deliver on time OEM program build.
Provide product information to Tier and OEM customers.
Field engineering and supporting the appropriate team(s) for quality issue resolution.
Liaise with cross-functional teams to assist in the engineering of secondary processes e.g. lamination, perforation.
Manage & report out on PPAP status for all responsible projects.
Support and manage customer audits.
Support and manage customer emergency supply issues.
Support and manage UK inputs for relevant internal projects such as new software introductions.
Assist multi-discipline teams with value engineering to take cost out of product and processes and eliminate waste.
Manage the response to customer design and/or engineering change requests in a timely and effective manner.
Must be willing to undertake European and International travel when required. Critical Challenges:

Understanding the Company’s structure, work processes, and culture.
Delivery of multiple programs with different OEM and Tiers.
Building lasting relationships with all program stakeholders.
Educating all program stakeholders on our client's products and leading engineering the fabric into a product.
Effective program management and reporting.
Maintain open lines of communication internally between our client's Europe, USA, and Japan. Unique Skills:

Have delivered projects into the Automotive, Rail, Aerospace, Marine, Textiles, or Military sectors.
Educated to degree level OR highly experienced (10+ years in field).
Ideally, a basic level of knowledge in material manufacturing in any of the following materials – PU, PVC, Leather, Textiles.
3+ years experience in leading the delivery of programs in either an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
General knowledge of product development life cycles – research & concept through to aftermarket support.
Basic engineering knowledge of material integration into an application.
Have a working practice in forward quality (FMEA, PPAP).
Experienced in quality issue resolution (6Sigma, 8D etc).
Have the ability to work under pressure and be a natural problem solver.
Able to effectively communicate across multiple levels of a business including executives.
Excellent organizational skills showing attention to detail, accuracy, and focus.
Highly competent in MS Office suite.
Experience in commercial activity including key account management, sales, and sourcing.
High level of emotional intelligence and be a team player. External Contacts:

OEMs at all levels of management.
Tier customer’s Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics, Quality, and Program Management departments.
Secondary process suppliers. Problem Solving:

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
