Are you an experienced Production Operative or Machine Operator ready to take the next step in your career?

We’re looking for a Production Team Leader to support the Production Supervisor and lead a small team of Operators within a busy filling department.

This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll still be involved with the machinery, production lines and changeovers while taking responsibility for your team and helping to keep the shift running safely, efficiently and to target.

The Role

You’ll be the main point of contact for your team, making sure everyone knows what’s expected and supporting them to deliver daily quality, output and efficiency targets.

You’ll also work closely with the Production Supervisor, helping to identify issues, solve problems and keep production moving.

Key responsibilities include:

Operate production machinery and carry out regular line changeovers.

Lead, organise and support a small team of Production Operators.

Monitor line performance and escalate any issues to the Production Supervisor.

Ensure production operates safely and in line with Health & Safety and GMP standards.

Complete accurate shift handovers and production records, including output, downtime, changeovers and quality checks.

Train and support new team members, helping to build a skilled and flexible workforce.

Identify opportunities to improve production performance, processes and efficiency.

Act as the main point of contact for your team during the shift.

Support the Production Supervisor with the smooth running of the department.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and confident around production machinery, with the ability to take ownership and lead by example.

Ideally, you’ll have:

Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or machine operator role.

Experience of operating machinery and carrying out changeovers.

Some previous team-leading or mentoring experience.

A good understanding of Health & Safety and GMP requirements.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

A practical, problem-solving approach.

A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
