Production Support Operator

Location: Standish
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: 48 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Role

We are recruiting for a Production Support Operator to join the Production team at an established manufacturing site in Standish.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the production department, ensuring raw materials and finished products are available when required, maintaining high housekeeping standards and helping to minimise production downtime.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with production, manufacturing or process industry experience who holds a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence and is comfortable working within a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate the filtration press in accordance with manufacturing instructions and safe systems of work.

* Transfer products between holding tanks and the filtration press while monitoring the process.

* Complete production and filtration records and report any issues or deviations.

* Support Production Operators during busy periods to maintain production schedules.

* Safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move materials and finished products.

* Supply production areas with raw materials, packaging and consumables as required.

* Maintain the site heating plan to ensure temperature-sensitive materials are ready for production.

* Assist with stock checks and ensure materials are stored correctly.

* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across production, press and yard areas.

* Support waste segregation, solvent recovery and general site organisation.

* Follow all site Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.

* Work in accordance with COMAH requirements and Permit to Work systems.

* Report hazards, near misses, equipment issues and unsafe conditions promptly.

* Contribute to continuous improvement and help identify ways to improve production efficiency.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

* Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, chemical or process environment.

* A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence and practical forklift experience.

* The ability to follow detailed manufacturing instructions and procedures.

* Good numeracy, communication and record-keeping skills.

* A strong understanding of workplace health, safety and quality requirements.

* A flexible and team-focused approach to work.

* The ability to troubleshoot basic production equipment and process issues.

* Experience working within a COMAH-regulated environment would be highly advantageous.

* Knowledge of chemical processes, sampling or product testing would be beneficial.

* A proactive attitude towards maintaining high standards and improving processes.
