Production Supervisor / Packhouse

Location: Farningham

Salary: £35,490 + overtime

Monday – Sunday: 52.5 Hours a week on a rota basis (5 days per week)

Essential: Need to have own transport due to location of the site.

Connect Personnel are representing one a longstanding client and a family-run business which farms over 600 hectares of land across 10 farms in Kent and Essex. They grow around 100 different crops each year. Their customers include major supermarket retailers, wholesalers, high end hotels and restaurants, airlines, school, and the public. We sell the produce we grow and buy many other products from UK growers.

Responsibilities:

A High Care Production Supervisor is specifically accountable to the Production Manager, or in his-her absence to the Packhouse Manager for, in relation to packing of High-low care fresh produce and the following:

* Site-Facility Maintenance, Condition and Cleanliness

* Staff Personal Hygiene including PPE.

* Staff Training and ongoing improvements

* Stock Rotation, washing/drying processes Packing and Distribution

* Finished Goods Quality.

In addition, a High Care Supervisor has specific Health and Safety accountabilities

* The safe condition and use of Plant and Equipment.

* Staff familiarity and compliance with Health and Safety Notices and ‘Operating Procedures’

The High Care Supervisor is responsible for assisting the High Care Manager to manage those staff working in the areas of production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In respect of the above, the High Care Production Supervisor is specifically responsible for the following tasks:

1)Assisting the Production manager in a supervisory role.

2)The housekeeping and cleanliness of Facilities and Equipment directly in the High Care unit.

3)The implementation of the Companies Food Safety Policy this to include:

* The provision, condition and use by staff of prescribed PPE

* The personal hygiene standards of packhouse staff

* The health of packhouse staff

4)Housekeeping of the High Care unit to a very high standard.

5)The required machine operations in the High Care area to enable product changes, film changes, preventative maintenance and general machine operations to include (de-waterers-optical sorters and bagging machines).

6)The day-to-day liaison with the High Care manager in respect of customer orders/yield reports inclusive of average weights/productivity and costings.

7)Ensuring staff familiarity and compliance with Site Rules

8)The maintenance, accuracy and completeness of production records such as:

* Cleaning Records

* Maintenance Records (Including pre-work checks)

* Packing and product Traceability Records paperwork and software systems.

* Labour records

* 9)Delivery of set KPI’s involving daily targets and quality-team building and training packing teams.

10)Undertaking any such other tasks, which may, from time to time, be agreed with the Management team, and for which appropriate instruction and training will be provided.
