Production Supervisor

Description:

We are recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join a global manufacturer of fencing and gates at their premises in Stoke reporting into the Fabrication Manager.

This is a newly created full time permanent role, working Monday to Thursday 7.30-4pm and Fridays 7.30-3pm offering a salary of £30-35k per annum plus benefits as below!

As Production Supervisor you will be leading a team of approx. 50 production staff including machine operators and welders to ensure the effective delivery of all production processes whilst improving quality and productivity using a hands on approach to your role. Your main duties will include:

Ensure all employees use safe working practices at all times
Work with manager to assess and maintain all scheduled H&S activities
Implement H&S improvements as appropriate
Identify and report all H&S issues in a timely manner
Increase and promote awareness of H&S within the department
Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
Ensure all new starters are fully inducted and trained for the required tasks
Ensure all operatives are following appropriate Safe Standards of Working
Ensure required quality standards are maintained
Implement and maintain appropriate welding standards
Ensure all quality checks are carried out and recorded correctly
Develop, implement & maintain productivity KPI’s with the team
Regularly review production performance with team members
Seek and implement best practice for production processes
Manage department schedule and production plan
Effectively manage manning levels to achieve required output
Collate and report department performance
Understand the changing needs of staff
Identify appropriate development and training for direct reports
Report all maintenance issues in a timely manner
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

Strong experience in a Supervisor/ Assistant Manager role within a production/ manufacturing environment is essential
Excellent people management skills with proven coaching and mentoring skills
Confident in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as ERP systems
Adaptable and flexible in your approach, with the ability to organize, multi-task and priortise
Good standard of numeracy and literacy
