SHIFT PRODUCTION MANAGER

INVERNESS

PANAMA'S

£45,000-£50,000

We are looking for a motivated production manager to join a global manufacturing company in the UK. You will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. The position will appeal to a strong manager looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Role Description

Delivering Safety Toolbox talks ensuring you are up to date for all shift members.
· Ensuring adherence to safe working practices at all times (use of RA's / SSOW's / SOP's / Driving standards etc). You should set the standard for your team.
· Ensure all safety tours are completed on time for yourself and your crew.
· Ensure all employees on HRR are progressed through the process in the permitted time frame, escalating any concerns if the employee does not reach satisfactory safety performance levels.
· Regularly "Walk the Floor" to identify potential issues, ensure employees are informed of daily targets, requirements, and to identify any safety concerns (any unsafe conditions must be acted upon immediately). Also to check on employee's welfare.
· Engage with Crews to ensure they are fully aware of the reasons for decisions taken and workload planned on site.
· Ensure Production lines have adequate cover for your shift and upcoming shifts.
· Manage Hourly Production KPI's on shift (rate / scrap / downtime). Drive performance to meet or exceed targets and provide details on any reasons for nonconformance.
· Effective reporting on shift activities (logbook / email to senior team when required), including extensive handover to incoming shift manager.
· Effectively control and lead incident response on site - i.e. fires / breakdowns / accidents
· Quality standards - testing / sampling as required. Ensure test boards are taken without fail. Ensure required testing is carried out, with results entered and initialed by Operators.
· Housekeeping - all areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness / organization - demand the standards you expect.
· Performance Appraisals - Identify Operator training requirements and align with priorities - identify skills gaps within your team, implement training plans to reduce risk to business from unplanned downtime. Follow up on any commitments made during this process.
· Fire training - complete all required training with evidence records kept as required

Skills and Qualifications

· A Level / Higher education level or equivalent.
· IT Skills (Microsoft Office).
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· Awareness and knowledge of business expectations and how to meet/exceed these.
· Ability to give direction to individuals and teams
