The successful candidate will combine strong technical planning expertise with confident people leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to influence decisions at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of planners, promoting accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Translate sales forecasts into achievable production schedules, raw material requirements and resource plans.
Balance customer service, inventory levels, manufacturing capacity and operational costs.
Manage inbound material schedules and work with suppliers to maintain continuity of supply.
Partner with Commercial and Supply Chain colleagues to improve forecasting and support effective Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).
Collaborate with sales teams across multiple manufacturing sites to align demand and supply plans.
Monitor key performance indicators, including forecast accuracy, plan attainment, service levels and stock performance.
Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, systems and operational efficiency.
Support budget preparation, expenditure management and cost-control initiatives.
Build strong relationships across the site leadership team and wider business.

About You

You'll ideally bring:

Previous production planning, materials planning or supply chain management experience within FMCG manufacturing.
Experience leading, coaching and developing a team.
Strong knowledge of production scheduling, demand forecasting, material requirements planning and inventory management.
Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving material availability challenges.
The ability to balance customer requirements with manufacturing constraints and commercial priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-led approach to decision making.
Financial awareness, including budget management and cost control.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
