Production Planner - Looking for a new career challenge for a fantastic manufacturer?

As the Production Planner, you will be responsible for the production co-ordination in the fermentation, production and packaging areas. You will ensure the efficient overall production of the factory by scheduling of fermentation batches, drying batches and packaging runs.

About the role:

You will work in close liaison with the Upstream manager, Downstream Manager and Logistics Manager, as well as the engineering team to ensure that production and engineering plans are well integrated and executed in harmony. You will develop a 2-week horizon schedule for fermentation, compressed yeast packing and drying which meets customer demands.

Other duties will include:

Ensure that all plans for logistics, culture and fermentation, wet pack, IDY and drying are executed efficiently
Attend production meetings and business planning sessions and owns short interval planning output and production output
Follow “waste” KPI e.g. Production time loss and Finishing product
Monitor and maintain the stocks of cartons and raw materials for production
Use mandatory maintenance and planning schedules for production planning process
Lead small improvements in factory processes using appropriate techniques
Consult and inform the rights regarding production and maintenance planning

About you:

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in yeast manufacturing and in the Food and Beverage industry. You will have familiarity with industry equipment, be knowledgeable of safety processes, microbiological knowledge and proficiency in IT. You will be results-focused with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a determined individual. It is essential that you can problem-solve, make suggestions for our business needs, and confident in maths and statistics.  As well as this, strong communication and an appetite to challenge is required. The ability to effectively prioritise and use your initiative is important, and you must be adaptable to changing environments. Having a good understanding of health and safety, knowledge of production planning, and commitment to the company values is also desired.
