Production Planner - Rugby

We're looking for an experienced Production Planner to join a specialist manufacturing business based in Rugby. Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer producing bespoke, high-quality equipment for a range of industries.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled production team where organisation, planning, and attention to detail are essential to ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards.

What's on offer

Hours: Monday to Friday (8:00 - 16:30)
Holidays: 20 days + 8 bank holidays

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain production schedules to support customer demand and ensure manufacturing targets are achieved.
Coordinate with production, engineering, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of builds.
Monitor material availability and stock levels, working closely with procurement to ensure components are available when required.
Plan and prioritise manufacturing activities to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.
Communicate with internal departments regarding production progress, delivery timescales, and any potential issues.
Prepare production reports, analyse performance data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.
Liaise with engineering and production teams regarding equipment maintenance requirements and machine servicing.
Maintain accurate production records using internal planning systems.

About you

Proven experience working as a Production Planner / Production Scheduler / Manufacturing Planner within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience working within a production, fabrication, assembly, or specialist manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with production, engineering, and purchasing teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify trends, and implement improvements.
Experience using ERP, MRP, or production planning systems is desirable.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles would be beneficial.
