Production Planner

We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for a Production Planner.
The Role
* Overall responsibility for the analysis, planning and management of all Manufacturing orders, workloads, Bill of Materials, and related documentation/databases.
* Ensure that all manufacturing customer/works orders are planned into and job completion/delivery dates given with agreed time scale.
* Develop planning procedures and appropriate controls to ensure efficient and optimised Manufacturing planning, scheduling and work pack release/control: utilising ERP system and other interfacing systems (e.g. Design/Material Control).
* Deliver appropriate training to colleagues in Manufacturing Planning procedures/Syteline system.
* Co-ordinate planning, material, and system updates/changes in result of design changes/modifications/deviations etc; and ensure adherence to GQCP and other system/process control procedures.
* Lead and contribute to manufacturing/lean and ERP/systems improvement projects.
* Oversee procedures and conformance by Production staff in job time/progress booking: and adherence to job-track/ERP processes.
* Ensure production schedules are assessed in advance and all materials requirements are created/actioned to fulfil in-house Manufacturing, Outsource, free-issue and subcontract demands.
* Monitor production processes and identify production bottlenecks or issues, proactively taking corrective actions to minimise disruptions.
About you
* Experience of planning and scheduling.
* Engineering experience within in a manufacturing environment
* Fluent at reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* To have good organisational skills
* To have good IT skills
