Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced Production Planner to join one of our clients on a permanent basis.
The company is a world leader in the manufacture, modification and servicing of specialist products for the rail industry.
Based in their purpose-built premises in Wiltshire the role will involve production control and planning to ensure all parts for a variety of production cells are available for on time delivery.
The main duties will
* The creation and maintenance of production plans over ensuring demand is smoothed consistent with capacity and material restraints.
* Review planning requirements and update the SAP/MRP systems based on historic information.
* Liaising with Customer Services to ensure customer requirements are planned correctly.
* Ensuing that customer priority orders are planned and processed correctly to manufacturing.
* Holding regular reviews of plans in conjunction with Cell Leaders and Product Line Managers ensuring plans are deliverable and on track.
* Proactively leading continuous improvement projects to improve production system efficiencies.
* Updating SAP production orders daily to ensure planning data is accurate.
* Driving activities towards customer satisfaction and organisational goals.
* Reviewing schedules and liaise with the Service Delivery Manager
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role and be used to working in a Production Planning and/or Material Control environment. Candidates will ideally be qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
In addition, applicants for this Production Planning Role will also need to have some if not all of the
* Experience of SAP or similar MRP System.
* Excel intermediate level.
* MS Projects or similar experience.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Ability to interpret and understand data.
* Flexibility to travel in the UK.
