Our client is a successful and highly reputable manufacturer. They are looking for people to join them as a Production Operative / Coach Builder / Assembler.

LOCATION - Sherburn in Elmet

They are looking for people that are used to working with hand and power tools, and that can follow diagrams and instructions with precision. If you have a background in Vehicle assembly this will be an advantage, HOWEVER, if you come from a manufacturing / assembly background where care, quality, finesse, and attention to detail is important, you will be considered. Even if you are really good at DIY / Painting or Decorating, you may be considered.

As a Vehicle Production Operative, you will play a key role in the manufacture of vehicles. Always ensuring every task in the build process is completed to the highest quality standards, the role works within a continuous hand assembly process - working with relevant tools and machinery ensuring the production process continues to flow efficiently.

NOTE: This is a temporary contract for up to 6 months, however it may go on longer if needed.

Salary £12.82 per hour.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 6.00am – 2.30pm, Friday 6.00am – 11.30am.

Applicant requirements:

* Previous experience in a Manufacturing / Assembly / Fitting / Finishing / similar role, where care and attention to detail is important.

* Experience of working with relevant tools e.g. basic hand / power tools and air operated tools, etc. So if you are a DIY enthusiast your skills will also be relevant.

* An understanding of engineering drawings / assembly instructions.

* A keen eye for detail.

* Good time keeping.

Duties include (and not limited to):

* Undertaking tasks within the hand assembly production process to the highest quality standards.

* Tasks include measuring, marking out, cutting, assembly and building of parts.

* Working with engineering layout drawings, mechanically fixing seats into vehicles.

* Interior and exterior panel fitting, trimming, surface prep and bonding, fixing using a range of adhesives and mechanical fastenings.

* Vehicle glazing and sealing.

* Final build activities – fitting exterior mirrors, legal labels, cab build, panel and bonnet alignment.

* Highlight and work to resolve any quality issues.
