My client is currently looking for a production operative to join their team in South shields ona permanent basis. The role of the Production Operator is to maximise the throughput of the specific cell, understanding and implementing the discipline of continuous improvement within the cell.
The purpose is to develop our departmental skills, using lean manufacturing techniques. The role will be as part of a team, actively pursuing the KPI goals for the Laminate Cell.
Job Description:
* Meet daily production targets and uphold quality standards for laminate manufacturing.
* Seek support from Team Leader when external factors affect production goals.
* Contribute to lean manufacturing practices for improved efficiency.
* Operate coating machines, auto-guillotine, and other laminate equipment effectively.
* Manufacture laminate sheets according to specifications and load/unload presses.
* Manage materials, issue stock, and adhere to work lists for timely completion.
* Ensure machinery operates efficiently and report any issues promptly.
* Maintain work area cleanliness, dispose of scrap, and store finished products correctly.
* Read and understand job sheets, drawings, and relevant documentation.
* Comply with health and safety regulations and demonstrate flexibility across departments as needed.
Essential Requirements
1. Previous experience of working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
2. Basic understanding of engineering drawings is preferred
3. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a small team
4. Ability to work without supervision
Monday to Wednesday 07:00 – 17:00
Thursday 07:00 – 16:30
Note: we operate a 4 day working week (37.5hours)
