Job Title - Production Manager / Business Unit Manager
Location - Newport, South Wales
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + P&L Bonus
Shift: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Job Role of the Production Manager / Business Unit Manager
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager / Business Unit Manager to join a successful and growing FMCG manufacturing business based in the Newport area. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Production Manager who wants to take ownership of a manufacturing unit and make a real difference to performance, people and production output.
The business has invested heavily into the site over recent years and is continuing to invest in machinery, facilities, PLC systems and training. This is an exciting time to join the company, with further investment planned and increasing demand driving the need to improve production capacity.
You will be responsible for taking ownership of one of the site's production units, ensuring that production targets, quality, safety and efficiency requirements are consistently achieved. This is a hands-on role, with approximately 70% of your time spent on the shop floor, working closely with the production team, coaching staff, resolving issues and driving improvements.
The unit currently produces approximately 50,000 units per day, with an ambition to increase this to 100,000 units per day.
You will also act as deputy to the Operations Manager when required and will be responsible for managing and developing Shift Managers and the wider production team.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Production Manager / Business Unit Manager
Production Management experience within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience managing production teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with responsibility for production output, quality, health & safety and performance.
Desirable Requirements for the Production Manager / Business Unit Manager
Food Safety Level 3.
IOSH qualification.
COSHH experience.
NEBOSH qualification.
Experience working with glass packaging.
Experience within a high-volume food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
Experience driving continuous improvement and increasing production output.
