We have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Manager to join a well established engineering business.

We are looking for a Production Manager who can efficiently and effectively manage the production facility, by leading and assuming full responsibility of all employee and production requirements. You must assist in attracting new opportunities into the business supporting its growth strategy.

The successful Production Manager will check and improve organisational and system process, work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency ensuring the highest operational standards.

Core responsibilities

* To efficiently and effectively manage, lead and assume responsibility for all production requirements and ensure machined components are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time meeting the required quality standards.

* Responsible for executing the daily, weekly, monthly production schedules to ensure Customer on time delivery.

* Manage and motivate the Manufacturing team, manage processes such as Recruitment, Training and Development, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Reward, Coaching and Mentoring etc.

* Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment

* Reduce company expenses and increase productivity across production. Implement all company policies, procedures and goals, ensuring project and resource requirements are achieved.

* Set quality standards, ensuing all work instructions are up-to-date and accurate. always monitor productivity rates, standards and quality control

* Ensure that all projects are directly attributed to your role, but share best practice methodology’s, ensuring project consistency and process repeatability.

* Ensure all documentation related to the manufacture of precision machined parts are maintained and in line with all quality expectations.

* Ensuring delivery deadlines are met and departmental budget adhered to (KPI’s)

* Undertake personal training to enhance skills necessary to perform key tasks and ensure knowledge transfer to team members as and when required.

* To comply with any reasonable requests and duties as may be assigned by the Managing director from time to time

* Ensure safe working practices are always maintained and adhered to, including when using outside contracts ensuring all relevant documentation ensuring compliance to all Health and Safety and Environmental standards.

* Experience leading, motivating and managing all members of production team, including external resources, ensuring increased efficiency performance.

* To always advocate the organisation in a positive and professional manner and undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and participate as and when necessary, in organisational wide initiatives and projects.

* Assist in the completion of the RFQ’s and project manage as and when required.

Key Business Priorities for Role

* Strong management skills and must want to aspire to achieve high standards.

* Ensuring production schedules are delivered on time and under budget.

* Ability to draft, submit or assist comprehensive project plans and assist in the submission of quotations

* Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from team members, supply chain and customers.

* Ensure an efficient communication process is maintained at all levels, therefore highlighting issues and risks at the earliest opportunity.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Qualifications

* Able to read and interpret technical information and drawings.

* 3 years+ experience in production management.

* 3 years+ experience working in relevant business sectors (engineering) ensuring cross functional understanding.

* Preferred business and engineering qualification in the appropriate field.

* Proficient on IT systems such as MS project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including MRP experience.

* Commercial contracts experience is preferable.

* Risk and conflict management experience, including negotiating skills
