Description:
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the production department. You will be a high calibre leader with the ability to drive change to meet our long-term growth plans. You will control the production and output of the company ensuring that the organisation meets its customers’ expectations for delivery OTIF and quality. To meet targets set by the management team and to control spending and costs from the production department. Promoting a right first-time approach to all tasks within the company along with promoting H&S compliance within the production department.
Standard Tasks
* Manage the production department and the staff effectively to increase the efficiencies within the department whilst meeting targets.
* Create and execute daily/weekly/monthly and annual production schedules against the output target.
* Manage the planned capacity against the actual capacity to achieve the targets.
* Manage and discuss solutions to capacity issues, both internal and external to meet requirements.
* Manage the overtime against requirements to achieve the planned output whilst adhering to targets and costs.
* Manage the staff/resource requirements and mentoring/ training within the production department.
* Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all areas of the production department.
* Implement, support, and police all the company’s procedures and policies within the production department.
* Communicate any problems or obstacles to the management team.
* Monitor productivity rates, standards, and reports against targets.
* Resolve the day-to-day operational issues within the production department.
* Conduct PDRs (Personal development reviews) within the production department.
Skill based Tasks:
* 2 + years Production management experience in a precision engineering environment.
* IOSH and / or Nebosh qualification.
* MRP/ERP literate.
* Experience of working in an AS9100 environment.
