Production Manager - Consumer Goods

Lancashire | Site-based

Salary up to £60,000 plus Pension & Benefits

A key leadership appointment at a new manufacturing facility.

Always Candid is supporting an established manufacturing group in the appointment of a Production Manager for its new facility near Preston.

This is an opportunity to take a central role in the performance of the site, leading production, warehouse and support teams and helping establish the standards, working practices and culture that will underpin its success.

We’re looking for a visible, practical leader who can build a capable, engaged team while maintaining a clear focus on safety, product quality and productivity. Someone who sets expectations, follows through and helps people understand how their contribution affects the wider operation.

The role

As the senior operational point of contact on site, you will translate business objectives into clear priorities and ensure the team delivers against them. Your responsibilities will include:

· Leading and developing the production, warehouse and support teams, building accountability and encouraging effective collaboration.

· Driving performance against productivity targets and operational KPIs.

· Maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality and security throughout the operation.

· Ensuring product quality, safety and legality, with procedures consistently understood and applied.

· Keeping the facility audit-ready through sound manufacturing practices and disciplined daily management.

· Recruiting, coaching and developing colleagues, addressing performance issues and strengthening team capability.

· Using root cause analysis to resolve recurring problems and deliver lasting improvements.

· Working closely with colleagues across the wider group, escalating issues appropriately and communicating site performance clearly.

About you

You’ll bring a successful track record in production or manufacturing management, with at least three years’ management experience and a clear understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice.

Experience of managing a site or substantial operation within a manufacturing group operating across multiple locations is essential. Familiarity with BRC standards and SEDEX ethical audits would also be valuable.

Just as important is your leadership style. You’ll be approachable, consistent and comfortable making decisions, with the ability to engage people on the factory floor and communicate confidently with senior management.

You may already be a Production Manager looking for broader responsibility, or an experienced Manufacturing or Operations Manager attracted by the opportunity to help shape a new facility.

Why consider it?

This is a role with real influence over site performance and team development. For someone who enjoys building strong operational foundations and seeing their leadership translate into results, it offers a meaningful opportunity to make an impact.

For a confidential discussion, contact Andrew Osbaldeston at Always Candid, or send your CV with a brief note outlining your relevant experience.
