Location: Poole
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Four-day working week

The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Production Expeditor to join a busy precision engineering business in Poole.
This is a customer-focused production control role responsible for managing assigned orders from receipt through to delivery, maintaining accurate production and capacity plans, and ensuring work progresses through the machine shop in line with customer schedules.
This position may also suit an experienced Production Planner, Production Controller, Production Coordinator or Order Expeditor from an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and expedite assigned customer orders from receipt through to delivery of the finished product.
Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing accurate order status and delivery updates.
Maintain sales management records and prepare accurate information for weekly sales reviews.
Enter and update production requirements on production run lists and capacity planning schedules.
Monitor delivery schedules, identify late or at-risk orders and coordinate recovery actions.
Prioritise and communicate product planning requirements to Manufacturing Engineers to protect agreed start dates and lead times.
Expedite work through the machine shop daily and follow up with suppliers where required.
Attend production meetings and provide clear updates on order progress, risks and priorities.
Monitor projected sales, on-time delivery, arrears and performance against customer demand.
Support corrective actions and continuous improvement while working within quality, health and safety, and environmental procedures.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience in production planning, production control, expediting or order management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Experience working closely with engineers and production teams in a machine shop environment.
Strong customer communication skills and confidence providing delivery updates.
Good understanding of production schedules, capacity planning, lead times and on-time delivery.
Ability to manage several customer orders and changing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Accurate record-keeping, strong organisational skills and confident use of spreadsheets or production management systems.
A proactive approach to identifying risks, chasing progress and coordinating practical recovery actions.
