Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Production Engineer / Production Support Engineer to join our Client's manufacturing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to production, solving practical engineering problems and improving the way products are manufactured. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing standardised processes, supporting production teams and driving continuous improvement across the business.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager and production teams, you will help ensure complex builds are properly planned, production processes are efficient and repeatable, and the right tools and documentation are in place to support high-quality manufacture based in their cutting edge manufacturing facility based on the south coast of the UK .
Key Responsibilities
Create, implement and manage Standard Work processes and
documentation within production.
Provide day-to-day engineering and tooling support to the production team.
Act as a key driver of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement,
encouraging and supporting others to adopt Lean principles.
Work closely with the Engineering Manager to look ahead at complex builds
and identify potential challenges and solutions before production begins.
Develop planned solutions to improve production efficiency, quality and
repeatability.
Design and manufacture production tools, fixtures and aids to support
manufacturing processes.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste and increase
productivity.
Support the introduction and implementation of improved production methods.
Where required, undertake basic machining using lathe and milling
machines.
Investigate production issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
