Job role: Production Engineer
Hours: 39 Hour Week - 7am to 4:15pm, Mon to Thurs
Friday 7am to 12:15 pm
Salary: Negotiable (£30,000+)

Our client is located in Bodmin specialising in bespoke machines and small batch items predominately used within the pharmaceutical and food industries.
We are seeking to recruit a Production Engineer to provide an effective production engineering service from provision of customer quotation through to determination of effective and efficient manufacturing methods. To liaise with customers, internal staff & suppliers and to maximise efficiencies where possible.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. To assess customer drawings, determining the feasibility of manufacture, suitable manufacturing routes and availability of materials.
2. Where appropriate, to liaise with and advise customers on their requirements, manufacturing processes and materials.
3. To compile quotations in line with customer requirements and ensuring that delivery dates are achievable.
4. To discuss and resolve manufacturing issues with production staff, ensuring that customer requirements are met.
5. To prepare profile and pre-machining drawings using AutoCAD as needed.
6. To liaise with suppliers, ensuring competitive prices are obtained and ensuring that materials are available when required.
7. To actively seek continuous improvements, cost reductions and efficiencies relating to supply of materials and manufacturing processes.
8. To lead and /or participate in pre and post production meetings with manufacturing staff.
9. To produce Job Cards, ensuring these are updated with customer changes and other relevant information.
10. To ensure compliance with the Company’s Quality Procedures (ISO 9001:2015).
11. To investigate NCRs, conducting root cause analysis and implementing/ recommending solutions in consultation with Production and Quality staff.
12. To work within Company policies e.g. Health and Safety, Data Protection.
13. To visit customers, representing the Company as needed.
14. To carry out any other duties consistent with the purpose of the post. 15. To occasionally produce weld maps for Certification purposes
Person Specification — Essential Attributes
* Minimum of Apprenticeship/NVQ3 in Engineering
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Flexible and positive approach
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Confident working alone and as part of a team
* Proficient use of AutoCAD
Person Specification — Desirable Attributes
Conversant with Microsoft Office
1-2 years’ experience in similar role
Experience of working within ISO 9001 quality system
Willingness to learn and attend external training
Sheet metal fabrication experience
Knowledge and experience of weld procedures and specifications
Valid driving license
Experience of SolidWorks
