Lead Product Support Engineer | Defence & Maritime Technology | South Coast ????
Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Maritime Technology sector, is seeking a Lead Product Support Engineer to join their Production Engineering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to lead a growing Product Support team, providing technical leadership and support for complex electronic and mechanical products throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Product Support Engineering team.
Mentor, train and develop Product Support Engineers, supporting both technical and professional growth.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex product and assembly-related issues.
Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting across manufacturing and assembly operations.
Coordinate activities between Design, Quality, Production, Supply Chain and Suppliers.
Support supplier discussions relating to components, sub-assemblies and manufacturability.
Represent the department at technical and operational review meetings.
Drive continuous improvement, productivity and efficiency initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Support production teams in achieving output, quality and delivery targets.
Participate in strategic projects and business improvement activities as required.
Requirements
Proven experience leading engineering or technical teams within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of product support, manufacturing, assembly, and engineering processes.
Knowledge of sensors, electrical systems, fabrication, or electromechanical products.
Experience resolving complex technical and production-related issues.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience working with suppliers and supporting manufacturing operations.
Degree-qualified in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
Ability to obtain SC Security Clearance.
