Product Owner - Mobile & Web Applications

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a technology team focused on developing and improving end-user software systems, including a flagship field engineer mobile application, order management system, customer portals and web-based platforms.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working closely with software development teams, stakeholders and customers to turn complex operational challenges into clear product requirements, user journeys, wireframes and high-quality software solutions.

You will play a key role in shaping mobile and web applications used across field service, logistics and inventory management environments, helping to improve visibility, efficiency and user experience for large-scale operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand customer needs, user journeys and operational processes.
Translate business and user requirements into clear product solutions, roadmaps and development priorities.
Own and manage product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and backlog refinement.
Work day-to-day with Agile software development teams to clarify requirements and support delivery.
Map user journeys and apply UX principles to create simple, effective and user-friendly product experiences.
Produce wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes to support product design and development.
Take part in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives and wider Agile ceremonies.
Work with QA and development teams to define acceptance tests and ensure product quality.
Support the design and improvement of mobile applications, web applications, order systems and customer portals.
Analyse complex operational workflows and propose practical technology-led improvements.
Engage directly with customers where required to understand requirements, present solutions and deliver product demos.
Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, senior stakeholders and distributed teams.
Ensure products are aligned with brand standards, customer expectations and wider product strategy.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with experience as a Product Owner, Digital Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Product Business Analyst or Business Analyst within a software product environment.

You should have experience working closely with software development teams and be confident gathering requirements, writing user stories, managing backlogs and supporting Agile delivery.

Experience with mobile applications, web applications, customer portals, order management systems, UX, user journeys and wireframing would be highly beneficial.

You should be comfortable speaking with technical and non-technical stakeholders, understanding business processes and turning operational requirements into clear product solutions.

Useful Experience

Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:

Mobile or web application development environments
SaaS or B2B software platforms
Field service technology
Logistics or supply chain software
Inventory management systems
Warehouse management systems
Order management platforms
Customer portals
Smart lockers, RFID, Bluetooth or IoT-enabled systems
EDI or third-party integrations
Agile/Scrum delivery environments
Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Figma, Balsamiq, Miro or similar toolsFull domain training will be provided, so direct industry experience is not essential.

The Person

The successful candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented and user-focused, with a strong interest in technology and product design.

You should be able to work independently in a remote environment while staying highly connected with developers, stakeholders and customers. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly translate complex requirements into clear, practical solutions for technical teams.

You will suit this role if you enjoy solving problems, improving user experiences and working closely with software teams to deliver high-quality digital products.

Working Environment

This is a remote/home-based role, with collaboration across distributed technical teams. Occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings with business stakeholders, customers or operational teams across the UK.

The role may occasionally require flexibility outside standard working hours to better understand operational environments and user needs.
